1. LEAGUE OF NATIONS FORMATION

2. INTRODUCTION The new nations hope to protect there freedom through the international body. League of Nations setup directly after 1st world war on 10 January 1920 , same day Treaty of Versailles came into operation.

3. FORMATION The league of Nations held its first meeting in a Swiss Hotel . Meeting has to place in Paris in 1919 in which world order diplomats of more than 32 countries and nationalities meet. The league headquarter was in Geneva , Switzerland .

4. 1905 Sir Henry Camphell proposed the creation of league of peace

5. 1911 Sir Edward Grey suggested that there should be some sort of world body . It was however , after the out-break of 1 st world war and the destructions which frightened the world , that world leaders seriously thought of having such an organization.

6. 1915 Draft was published known as proposal for the Avoidance Of War. The League Of Nations society was setup in 1915.

7. 1916 In may 1916 , a conference held in Washington , in which president Woodrow Wilson declared “ the US is willing to become a partner in any association of nations formed In order to secure against violations”.

8. 1917 On 22 January 1917 , President Wilson of USA while addressing the senate declared that he wanted that no nation of the world should seek to extend its policy over any other nation.

9. 1918 The League Of Free Nations association was started in 1918 . Later these two associations were mixed up into one as League Of Nation Unions . In March 1918, a committee of British Foreign Office prepared a draft convention for this world body.

10. 1919 On 14 feb,1919 , a tentative draft was presented to the Peace Conference . On 28 April , 1919 , the revised document was adopted and a German Delegation signed the Treaty Of Versailles on 28 June 1919. The first 26 articles of the treaty continued the covenant of the league of nations.

11. 1920 In 1920 the League Of Nations officially came into existence
