8. DEFINITION OF ART Art is derived from the Latin word “ars”, meaning ability or skill. It is a craft or specialized use of skill, mastery of form, inventiveness, and the associations exists between form and ideas, between material and technique.

11. DEFINITION OF ART Art has no objective definition. It is subjective in a sense that people have different perception of an object or a thing. That is why different authors, philosophers, and artists define art in various ways. Even though they define art in different ways, they are saying the true definition of art.

ART AS SUBJECT UNDER HUMANITIES HUMANITIES INCLUDES THE APPRECIATION OF ARTS WHICH CAN STRENGTHEN OUR VALUE ABOUT LIFE AND REALITY The term humanities originated from the Latin expression studia humanitatis or study of humanities. This refers to the root word “humanus” meaning culture, refinement, education, or worth/dignity of a man.
