SOURCE OF LIFE AND GRACE IN THE CHURCH LESSON 3
ROMANS 11:6 BUT IF BY GRACE, IT IS NO LONGER BECAUSE OF WORKS; OTHERWISE GRACE WOULD NO LONGER BE GRACE.
ARE FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST.
HOW DID THE GROUP DECIDE ON THE TUNED TO BE PRODUCED
What teachings or commandments of Christ do you remember? How do you observe, practice, or fulfill Christ’s command or teaching?
TEACHINGS/COMMANDMENTS OF CHRIST HOW DO YOU LIVE IT? 1 2 3 4 5
THE DESCENT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT ON THE APOSTLES
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.
Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting.
They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them.
All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.
Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven
When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken.
Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans?
Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language?"
IN WHAT FORM DID THE HOLY SPIRIT APPEAR WHEN IT CAME TO THE APOSTLES?
WHAT ARE THE APOSTLES ABLE TO DO BY THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT?
WHAT SURPRISED THE JEWS ABOUT WHAT THE APOSTLES DID?
HOW DID THE DISCIPLES CARRY OUT THEIR MISSION?
The newness of the Christian life is the foundation and title for equality among all the baptized in Christ, for all the members of the People of God:
As members , they share a common dignity from their rebirth in Christ , they have the same filial grace and the same vocation to perfection .
Because of the one dignity flowing from Baptism, each member of the lay faithful, together with ordained ministers and men and women religious, shares a responsibility for the Church's mission.
But among the lay faithful this one baptismal dignity takes on a manner of life which sets a person apart, without,
however, bringing about a separation from the ministerial priesthood or from men and women religious.
The Second Vatican Council has described this manner of life as the "secular character": "The secular character is properly and particularly that of the lay faithful.
Not only an anthropological and sociological reality but is a specific way, a THEOLOGICAL AND ECCLESIOLOGICAL REALITY AS WELL.
AS FOLLOWERS OF CHRIST, MUST LIVE OUT IN THEIR DAILY LIFE THE TEACHINGS OF CHRIST DESPITE THE MANY CHALLENGES THEY ENCOUNTER IN THEIR INDIVIDUAL CONTEXT TODAY.
How do we exactly follow Jesus in Our context today?
