Mass Communication termed as a medium of dispersing information to a large group of people. It is a means of disseminating information beyond physical and geographical restraints through various media. Media and Information Literacy 2

Traditional/Print Media 4 Media and Information Literacy the print media comprises of those platforms that facilitate communication mainly through written communication such as newspapers, books, journals, etc.
Broadcast Media PRESENTATION TITLE 5 Mainly refers to the electronic broadcast platforms. Whether through radio, films or TV shows, this form of mass media carries out the distribution of news, information and entertainment through audio and visuals by implementing electronic broadcasting platforms.
Outdoor & Transit Media 6 Corresponds to the dissemination of information as well as advertising through our outer environments such as billboards, posters, boardings, banners, etc. Transit Media is more inclined towards advertising through posters, banners, signs and notices in means of transportations such as Buses, Metro, Rail, amongst others.
Digital/New Media 7 One of the recent and popular types of Mass Communication and has become an influential form of media in the present time. It encompasses wide-ranging mediums such as emails, podcasts, blogs, websites, videos, social media, amongst others.
8 Interpersonal Communication Exchanging information, meaning, feelings, and opinions between two or more people via verbal and non-verbal means.
9 Intrapersonal communication Describes how we communicate with ourselves, including an accurate idea of our perceptions, expectations, and concepts.
The words are opposites, actually. “ Inter ” refers to dealings between people, groups, or other entities. “ Intra ,” on the other hand, describes actions within a person or a group.
Media and society
Media The communication channels through which we disseminate news, music, movies, education, promotional messages, and other data. It includes physical and online newspapers and magazines, television, radio, billboards, telephone, the Internet, fax, and billboards. 12

Functionalist approach 17 Each aspect of society is interdependent and contributes to society's stability and functioning as a whole. Functionalists believe that society is held together by social consensus, in which members of the society agree upon, and work together to achieve, what is best for society as a whole.

Social constructivism Is the view that learning occurs through social interaction and the help of others, often in a group . The theory of social constructivism was developed by Soviet psychologist Lev Vygotsky (1896-1934). Based on the idea that learners construct new knowledge. 19
There are four types of information: 1. Factual is information that solely deals with facts. It is short and non-explanatory. The best place to find factual information is in reference books such as encyclopedias and almanacs. 2. Analytical is the interpretation of factual information. What does the factual information mean? What does it imply? Analytical information is mostly found in books and journals. 20
21 3. Subjective Subjective information is information from only one point of view. Opinions are subjective. You can find subjective information almost anywhere factual information isn't. It is in books, journals, websites and book reviews. 4. Objective Objective information is information that is understood from multiple viewpoints and presents all sides of an argument. Reference books are a good place to find objective information. Newspapers that have balanced and fair reporting are also objective.
A P rimary source is an original document/image, the results of an experiment, statistical data, first-hand account, or creative work. A S econdary source is something written about or using primary sources. A T ertiary source is a collection of primary and secondary sources.
