Lessons from Surah Al- Kahf (Part I) Covers until verse 45 Reference: Message of The Quran, Muhammad Asad

Gratitude and appreciation towards Allah for revealing The Quran (verse 1) There is no internal contradiction in The Quran (verse i ) The Quran perfectly balances both hope of reward and fear of punishment (verse 2)

We should not feel sadness or grief if others do not follow the message of The Quran (verse 6) All beautiful things of life (wealth, children, etc.) are a test to see who are the best in actions (verse 7) No miracle or sign is greater than that of The Quran (verse 9)

Action + Dua = Success and help from Allah (verse 10) The true believers should form a close knit group and keep themselves safe from the trials and tribulations of the modern society (verse 16) If we collectively and sincerely make the effort to save ourselves from a sinful society, Allah will surely help us in ways we cannot even imagine (verse 16 – 18)

The main purpose of the stories in The Quran is to provide lessons and guidelines (verse 22) Hence, we should not concern ourselves with unnecessary details of stories and events (verse 22) Say “ inshaa Allah” when appropriate (verse 23)

Convey the message of The Quran to others (verse 27) Persevere and be constant in doing deeds (verse 30) Hope and yearn form the eternal good life of paradise (verse 31)

Never boast or brag about wealth, children, etc. Allah might take it all away in an instance if we do so (verse 34 and 42). Always attribute all good things to Allah (verse 39) The life of this world is temporary and transient (verse 45)
