ETTER OF PARTICIPATION
This letter attests that Deborah Rodrigo-Caldeira participated in the academic Training Session
on the Modern Information Society organised by the Cyber Studies Programme at Oxford
University’s Department of Politics and International Relations and funded by the European
Social Fund and the Estonian Government. The training session was held at Tallinn University of
Technology in Tallinn, Estonia, on 4-6 September 2015.
The title of the training session was “Government, Security, and Conflict in the Cyber Age.”
Following are the topics covered by the teaching staff:
- Computing and Networks: The Basics
- Code as a Weapon: Worms and Viruses
- International Security and Conflict in the Cyber Age
- Rules of War in the Cyber Domain
- Cybersecurity and the Age of Privateering: A Historical Analogy
- Origins, Principles, and Functions of the Estonian State Information System
- Designing User Friendly and Secure Services of the e-State
The course also included a Cyber Crisis Simulation Exercise replicating the challenges of decision
making under conditions of uncertainty.
