1. Ab s t rac t Library Management System is a simple console application without graphics, developed using C programming language. It is compiled in Code::Blocks using GCC compiler. This mini project utilizes various aspects of the C language such as functions, arrays, pointers, file handling, and data structure. With this simple application, users can perform all the basic book-related operations and features provided by today’s advanced library management software.

2. P roject D efinition To develop a project named “LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM” and is developd to maintain the operation done in a library. To Ease the transactions done in Library by computerizing the whole system. The concept of storing or recording the details of books embedded within the user's system is known as Library Management System. It details the type of books, the list of books, etc. Only a person with the login credentials can access the Library Management System. That person can perform many operations like adding the book details, removing the book details, displaying the book details, modifying the book details, etc.

3. S C OP E The scope of this project is to provide improved and optimized servic e . All manual work converted into computerized, so workload of workers decreases.

4. BENEFITS Availability - The availability of the software is easy for everyone. Correctness - The results of the function is pure and accurate . Flexibility - The operation may be flexible and reports can be presented in many ways. M aintainability - After the de velop ment of the project , if any error occured then it can be easily maintained by the software developer. P ortability - The software can be deployed at any machine. Relialibility -The performance of the software i s better which will increase the relibility of the software. Timelines - The time limit is very important.It will save much time and provide fast accessing. Cost effective - This software is less in cost and bearable by any organisation.

5. Need of the project For every customer and student it is not possible to purchase the book online. S o this system is very helpful to local students . T hey can easily issue the books. M aintain the consistency of database. I t will maintain the record in the database in such a way that it can be easily retrieved back whenever needed.

7. P R OPOSA L This systeam is to perform all task systematically. The objective of this system is to provide data storage in efficient manner by giving security to data. This project library mangement system is targeted towards the modern library. Proper mangement and audit of books possibly through easy to use interface for the customer.

PROPOSED SYSTEM The project”LIBRARY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM” mainly focuses on basis operation in a library like adding new member, new books and updating new information, searching books , etc. M embers and faculties to borrow and return books. All transactionms are computerized. Less paper work . S ecured and consistent database.

9. QUALITY MANAGEMENT Planning of project is done in less budget with good quality . Project is completed according to the planning. Equal time has given to cording as well as implementation . Traning has given to customer how to handle the project . Modification of project according to future requirement can be done.

10. CONCLUSION After analyzing the cost benefit & working of the current system & automated system,we conclude that the automated system is based . C omputerized library system is more efficient and reliable than the old system. It reduces most of the paperwork.
