LIBRARY SCHEDULE OPEN : Monday to Friday Morning: 8:00 – 12:00 nn Afternoon: 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. The Library is closed during all school activities.
The Library The ValMaSci Library provides the students a wide range of reading choices from scientific journals to literary classics. This library can definitely inspire young Valenzuelano scientists to see the world from different points of view.
LIBRARY OBJECTIVES 1. To acquire books and other library materials that will meet the needs and interest of the users . 2. To serve as depository of knowledge to guide users in their library needs . 3. To encourage lifelong education through the use of various library resources . 4. To give an avenue to an endless opportunity, a wide open door to greater intellectual growth of the readers/users.

GENERAL POLICY The LIBRARY is to be used solely for the purpose of studying , reading and researching . Hence, it is not a place for sleeping, hanging out with friends, or a charging station of cellular phones, tablets and other gadgets. Frequent disrespect of this rule will result in the loss of library privileges and the violator will incur disciplinary action. The users’ cooperation in maintaining the cleanliness, silence and orderliness will be highly appreciated.
SILENCE must be observed at all t imes in the library. Unnecessary noise & loitering are n ot allowed.
Practice honesty and courtesy all the time .
Food and drinks are not allowed i n the library.
Do not write , underline , mark , tear or mutilate the book or material borrowed. Library books and materials will be carefully examined after use and on the time of return. The borrower will be held 100% liable for the damage, or worse loss of the book/material.
DISORDERLY AND DISRUPTIVE BEHAVIOR Any person engaged in disorderly conduct such as creating disorder, disruptive behavior, e.g. excessive noise, loud discussions etc.; or improper behavior within the library premises shall be asked by the Librarian to leave the library premises and shall be subjected to suspension of library privileges.
CHECKING IN and OUT PROCEDURES Books are to be c hecked in and o ut personally at a t the book c ounter.
Return all books o n due date and r eport any book t hat may have d amage and n eeds repair .
All re-shelving of books is to be done by t he librarian.
CIRCULATION BOOKS The book can be kept for one week and are renewable for another week if not in demand. A maximum of 4(four) books may be borrowed at a time. These books are for student’s own use and may not be loaned to others.
RESERVED BOOKS Reserve books shall be lent for room use only and recalled two hours after issue .
General reference materials shall be for room use only . General reference books may be issued for classroom use upon the request of a faculty member, but these shall be returned within the day. REFERENCE SECTION
Research papers, journals, magazines, and newspapers are not to be taken out of the library . PERIODICALS SECTION
COMPUTER SECTION The computers in the library are for faculty and students use . A computer log sheet is available at the counter, where you can log in and out your time for the use of computer. Aside for computer use, the library offers printing and photocopying services for a minimal cost.
FINES Failure to return a book/material. Any person who fails to return any book open to general circulation on its due date shall pay a fine of Php2.00 a day, exclusive of Sundays and holidays. LOSS OF LIBRARY RESOURCES Loss of a Book/Material . Any person who loses or fails to return a book shall either replace it with the same or similar title.
