Massachusetts is Well Positioned Globally
Innovation and Manufacturing are inextricably intertwined: Innovation propels manufacturing, but manufacturing propels innovation. We cannot maintain a viable technology economy and leadership if we innovate here and manufacture abroad It takes as much as 10 years to develop disruptive manufacturing capability from a standing start of pure research. As much as 5 years if you have all the equipment Assertions
In June 2011, Federal Government launched the Advanced Manufacturing Partnership (AMP) to reinvigorate US manufacturing January 2013: The White House issued “ The National Network for Manufacturing Innovation: A Preliminary Design ” (a.k.a. NNMI) December 2014: The President signed the Revitalize American Manufacturing and Innovation Act (RAMI Act) into law, authorizing creation of national manufacturing innovation institutes whose topics would be chosen as most important to industry Manufacturing USA is now a network of 14 national Institutes, each with a 5-year goal of securing the future of US manufacturing through innovation , collaboration and education .
