1.Introduction Induction is a way of formally introducing new employees to their work location and colleagues . It provides you with a clear understanding of your job, role and responsibilities, including the mission and values of the wider organization and the purpose of an induction program is to help employees settle into their position at a new company, get familiarization on the operational functions of the company . 2.What is HSE Induction ? As part of the induction process, new staff should participate in HSE induction which ensures their HSE around the workplace. HSE stands for Health, Safety and Environment, each of which covers different functions, To ensure the induction program is successful, create a checklist that specifies all the documents and information new staff will receive on their first day of the job. The main purpose of HSE induction is to integrate your new employees into the company and show them the HSE systems, procedures, values and the organization itself. It also helps them ease move into a new working environment . 3.1.Purpose of HSE Induction : Induction is the process of introducing new employees to the company, its culture, policies, Orientation is the process of providing new employees with information about the company, operational functional process, its products, services, and the job they will be performing and the advantage are listed below, • Employees will settle quickly into the job, • Employees will be made aware of important health and safety issues before starting the job • Employees will understand who the main personnel in the organization and the structures. • Employees will understand the Do’s &Don't of the organization in HSE, • Employees will get familiar on their HSE commitments, roles & responsilbites and emergency procedures etc. 5

SAFE USE OF TOOLS & EQUIPMENT
When YOU are working at height, you should :- Ensure that you are aware of the hazards and risks associated with the work . Use scaffolds, working platforms and proper access points provided (Scaffolds are temporary structures to enable workmen to work on as well as to gain access to the place of work) Be aware of what fall protection equipment (FPE) to use and how to use it. While working on scaffold, everyone must hook their safety harness to a rigid point and/or life line Wear safety harness if you are to work on hanging scaffold and on Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (e.g. aerial platforms). Workers working at height are exposed to falling hazards. Falling of persons and or objects had resulted to fatality and/or serious injuries in the past. All safety measures must be put in place to ensure safety while working at height. Working At Height
DRIVING SAFETY Always follow the S afety rules: Fill the Daily vehicle inspection checklist before starting your vehicle Keep to speed limits; No mobile phones whilst driving; No dangerous driving; Seat belts fastened; Driver must have valid license; Driver must have approved third party defensive and desert driver training ; Journey Management plans must be devised for all trips to site; Compliance to Road Safety Standard (OPAL-STD-HSE-01 ) Vehicle must have RAS inspection sticker;
DRIVING SAFETY Light Vehicle Drivers Shall: Take 15 minutes of rest after two hours of driving Drivers Shall: Wear their seatbelt at all times Make sure passengers are wearing theirs Carry out a daily check on their vehicle Wear suitable, sturdy footwear whilst driving -HGV Drivers shall wear safety shoes and coveralls when on duty Take adequate rest breaks Take a minimum of one hour rest after four hours of driving Drivers Shall Not: Use a GSM -even a "Hand Free" while driving Drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs Tamper with safety devices e.g. speed limiters or seat belts Drive faster than Government or OXY Speed limits Work more than a twelve-hour shift

Competent Scaffolding Supervisor to supervise all scaffolding Erection/ Dismantling / Modifications. Scaff Tags a must GREEN Scaff TAG – OK for USE; NO Scaff Tag / RED Scaff TAG- Don’t USE. Scaff TAG to be revalidated / Inspected every 7 Days. More than 7 Days without Inspection – Don't USE. Only Trained Scaffolders to perform or Modify Scaffolding works. Full Body harness is mandatory @1.8m high & Above . Working At Height
Dropped Objects
Electricity kills and injures people. We must be fully aware of the hazards and dangers posed by electrical tools & equipments. Electrical injuries consist of four main types: electrocution (fatal), electric shock, burns, and falls caused as a result of contact with electrical energy. Preventive Measures: Ensure all electrical equipment and/or tools are properly grounded/ earthed. Check and ensure that the Equipment/ cables are not damaged. No household plugs or socket-outlets shall be used. Do not perform any electrical repairs if you are not trained to do so. Common Causes: Fault in electrical wires / Using exposed wires or wet wires Damaged elec. sockets / Miss-use of extension cables Tampering with electrical equipment Electrical Safety
Material Handling Manual Handling of Loads Manual material handling in yard is very common and therefore it is important that proper material handling habits and techniques be adopted to avoid any potential injury. (i.e. backache, strain, etc) Do not attempt to carry or lift anything that is too big or too heavy. Mechanical lifting of loads (Lifting Operations) Mechanical lifting involving the use of Hydras, chains, slings, blocks, webbings, etc are common in the yard. Mechanical lifting shall be performed only by competent persons (i.e. qualified hydra operator, rigger/signalman).

Littering is strictly prohibited. All waste shall be disposed off properly: - Rubbish in rubbish skips & rubbish bins. Metal scraps in scrap area Throwing of any materials and/or discharging of waste is strictly prohibited. Near Miss Reporting Near miss investigations can help uncover unsafe conditions or Behavior. Reported near misses can be used as warnings in safety programs There is no blame policy employees can share their near miss Experiences instead of covering them up or ignoring them. Majees Makes it easy to report this near miss events by scanning QR code. Reporting makes it possible to put controls in place to change Unsafe situations or behavior.
The main purpose of incident reporting is to facilitate:- Event Management Prevent similar incidents from happening in the future. It is the duty of all to report all incidents/accidents and hazards identified whilst working in the yard. All forms of injury, property damage / near-misses / environmental releases shall be reported. Means of reporting include: - Verbal reporting to immediate In-charge/Supervisor, HSE personnel. Telecommunications to inform the HSE personnel. Incident Reporting
Raise the alarm, inform the work area supervisor or call HSE personnel by telephone. Upon hearing the alarm continuously and/or orders by HSE personnel, STOP WORK and proceed to evacuate. Try to extinguish the fire if any incase minor, but do not take unnecessary risk. Move to the nearest muster point & report to your supervisor for head count process. Do not move away without informing your supervisor. In case of any SAFETY emergency , the following action(s) shall be taken:- Event Management (Emergency Response Procedures)
