To enable students to:
 research and collect information on a
specific place
use that information to create a travel
brochure
make use of imagery tourism in order
apply knowledge to create something new

Brief summary of the setting, with highlights of
important places
Location, including a map
Geography
 Major cities, well-known places
Climate and overall weather
conditions
Transportation

Things to be included
Historic sites and landmarks
Recreation and entertainment
Arts and culture, including museums,
theatres, places to visit
Languages and local dialect
Food that the area is known for
Pictures/Graphics

Skills involved:
A travel brochure allows for the development of
research skills. The students
find out information
select relevant facts
present the information creatively
create an interesting layout
edit it carefully.

Most traditional ways of assessment
frequently result in rote repetition rather
than deep critical thinking and application
of knowledge.
