Here are my suggestions on how SIBS can better respond to the evolving nature of its business, most especially on B2B:
1. Personnel structure
a. Its engineers should be able to manage projects, from development, proposal preparation, negotiation, execution and turn-over.
b. Product knowledge is not sufficient, engineers should be able to at least grasp the immediate needs of potential customers.
c. As project in charge, engineers should “own” their projects and be able to anticipate issues and problems before they become serious.
d. Engineers must be experienced: technical and people skills.
