19/09/23 GOALS OF MBBS PROGRAM  To produce an MBBS student with essential knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values , so that he or she shall perform and work properly and efficiently as a general physician in a community with an aptitude to advance in the field of medicine at national and international level. 

19/09/23 DURATION AND PHASES OF THE MBBS ACADEMIC COURSE  The total duration of the MBBS program is 4 and 1/2 years with 1 year of compulsory rotatory internship Candidate has to complete the MBBS course within 10 years of admission excluding internship.

19/09/23 FOUNDATION COURSE  Based on the MCI AETCOM based MBBS curriculum The duration of foundation course:1 month in First Professional MBBS teaching schedule The foundation course (approximately total 175 hours) consists of: Orientation (30 hours), Skills Module (35 hours), Field visit to Community Health Center (8 hours), Introduction to Professional Development and AETCOM module (40 hours), Sports and extracurricular activities (22 hours) and Enhancement of language/computer skills (40 hours) Students should have minimum 75% of attendance in the foundation course.

19/09/23 PENALTY FOR VOLUNTARY LEAVING THE ACADEMIC COURSE  Three lakhs (3,00,000 rupees), for a student voluntary leaving the MBBS academic course after confirming admission at AIIMS Patna *All powers related to the decision in the above-mentioned matter are vested with the Director, AIIMS Patna. 

19/09/23 INTERNAL ASSESSMENT EXAMINATIONS  M inimum three internal assessment examinations in First and Second MBBS Professional subjects and minimum two internal assessment examinations in Third MBBS Professional Part 1 and Part 2 subjects  Internal Assessment shall have 40% of total weightage in professional examinations.  It shall be mandatory for a student to secure minimum 50% of marks (each in theory and practical/clinical) in the final internal assessment to become eligible in the professional examinations

19/09/23 MBBS PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATIONS  Examination Section , AIIMS Patna.  Eligibility for appearing in professional examinations:  Minimum 75% attendance in theory, practical classes, and clinical postings each.  Mandatory 75% attendance in elective posting(s) (eligibility to appear in Third Professional Part 2 examinations)  Minimum 50% of marks in Final Internal Assessment in each theory and practical component of a subject (practical includes practicals or clinical and viva voce)  S hould secure minimum 50% of marks each in theory and practicals (practical includes: practical/clinical and viva voce) to be declared as successful/passed in that subject

19/09/23 PASSING CRITERIA AND DECLARTION OF RESULTS  M inimum 50% of marks each in professional theory and practical/viva voce examinations Grace marks: Maximum 5 either in professional and supplementary examination    SUPPLEMENTARY PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATIONS Within 45 days  In case the student fails in the supplementary professional examination, he/she shall then appear in the next regular professional examination
