TEST A test in simple word is “ a standardized situation that provides an individual with a score”. According to the dictionary of Education it means: An examination Any kind of device or procedure for measuring ability, achievements and interest etc.
Continue. Test is a series of questions or exercises for measuring the skill, knowledge, intelligence, capacities, or aptitudes of an individual or group.
MEASUREMENT If any thing exists, it exist in some amount and if it exist in some amount, it can be measured. “Measurement is the process of obtaining a numerical description of the degree to which an individual possesses a particular characteristics”.
Continue. Educational measurement is the science and practice of obtaining information about characteristics of students, such as their knowledge, skills, abilities, and interests .
ASSESSMENT The process of gathering information to monitor progress and make educational decisions if necessary. An assessment may include a test, but also includes methods such as observations, interviews, behavior monitoring, etc
EVALUATION The word “EVALUATION” has been derived from ‘value’ thus it means to give value to something. In Education evaluation is “ estimation of the growth and progress of pupils towards objective or values in the curriculum”
TESTING The act or practice of giving tests to measure someone’s knowledge or ability. Testing is the process of assessing correctness, completeness and quality of system.
