Part 1:Introduction about hosting company Ethio -Engineering Group (EEG) is a Governmental business enterprise re-established in September 2020 under the FDRE Council of Ministers Regulation No. It has over 9 industry under it which have their own manufacturing industries in different parts of the country. Addis Machinery and Spare Parts Manufacturing Industry is a sub group in Ethio -engineering based in Addis Ababa. That does many kind of operations especially in producing machines, machine parts, medals, & etc.

O peration There are a lot of operations done here from designing, wood works, heat treatment, conventional manufacturing, and machine building, to the production of bolt and nuts, welding, cutting, forging until neutralization of the waste liquids.

Cont … Main costumers of the company are :- Cement factories - Ethiopian defense force - Textile and tannery industries The main aim’s of the company:- Accelerate technology transfer and thus help the rapid development of manufacturing industries . Design, build, trail production and testing (commissioning), repair, overhaul and upgrade manufacturing or service delivery plants . Sell products and render services to local and international markets in conjunction with the provision of post-sale services.

Mission and Vision Their vision is to solve the technological problem of producing industrial machinery’s, machine tool and spare parts with sufficient quality, competitive price and delivered on time. Their mission is to substitute   imports that created market gaps and demanded high foreign currency with local products those have decisive roles in the country’s economic development. and to make our products and services accessible to foreign market . Strategies followed by the company are:- Develop mentalism and Partnership

Part of the company we have been working on We've been working in the R&D (Research and Design) part of the company and this section of the company works on researches, designing and modification of products whether they are new designed products or ones that a costumer brings as a sample in drawing or the sample product itself. We were working on many things from software’s to workshop practices but mainly on the software designing . In conclusion we have seen and learned many things including the software's and workshop practices on CNC machines although we learned many things the company has some flaws like we mentioned in the document.

Part 2:- Internship Project on L.E.M Introduction Laser was first identified in 1960. Laser light is distinct from other light because of its high temporal and constrained spectral bandwidth. This medium is produced by promoting the emission of photons from a lower energy level to a higher energy level than was previously occupied by a pump source. Lasers may be grouped in a few ways depending on their method of operation or the kind of laser-active material they use. engraving is the process of transferring a pattern to a hard, flat surface by making grooves in it perpendicular to the processing beam axis.

Cont.… Problem statement In this hosting company, the produced goods are not having specification as well as logo that express where and by which company it made. Objectives The main objective of this internship project is to design laser engraving machine. The overall objective of this project is to solve the problem or lacking of the company that we observed and thought is necessary for the company to have. To engrave pictures, any specific name or logo that the costumer wants

Cont.… Scope The primary goal is to develop a versatile and high-precision machine capable of engraving a wide range of materials with exceptional accuracy. Limitations The overall limitation of this document was that there was not enough resources on the title for this is an almost new technology we haven’t been able to find sufficient resources and information.

Literature review Li (2000), reported that due of the versatility of laser engraving, it is used in so many different sectors. To produce a clear engraving on the surface of medals or trophies, engraving is frequently utilized. Christian (2004), reported that a laser cutting device has a chamber designed to provide a controlled environment when the laser beam is used to cut metals in order to restrict or eliminate heat energy and changes brought on by oxygen, also known as mechanical characteristics of the metal. Also described is how to consume gas and clean the cavity of particles .

Leone C, Lopressor and Iorio (2009), reported that for a laser engraving to begin, laser equipment needs vector files. The laser engraver uses the file to determine where to focus the laser and what picture to produce. Such files can be produced by a wide variety of software applications. There are two types of machines for laser engraving - diode lasers and CO2 lasers.

Electronic Components Description and Specifications Laser diode A Laser Diode is a semiconductor device similar to a light-emitting diode (LED ). It uses p-n junction to emit coherent light in which all the waves are at the same frequency and phase. since a p-n junction is used to produce laser light, this device is named as a laser diode
