Summary:
1. When we serve Christ, ministry needs seem unending. So are stresses of life. But Jesus knows. He provides His followers and also His disciples (last week message from feeding of 5,000)
2. Jesus shows an example of His way of obtaining rest: spend time alone in prayer with His Father in heaven.
3. When we go through life’s stress, when Jesus comes to us, do we realise? Do we recognise Him?
4. How? We need to recognise His voice. We need to know Him, allow Him to be with us as we commune with the Father, by being part of His family
5. Know our role is pointing to Christ. Be filled with the Spirit and soak in the work and knowledge of God. Rewards on Earth is service itself.

2. What is going on today? Experiencing BURNOUT? Serving too much? Serving too long? Not appreciated? Criticised?

3. What happened before this?

4. Today … What does God’s Word have to say to us today? Mark 6:45-56

5. 45  Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd.  46  And after he had taken leave of them, he went up on the mountain to pray.  47  And when evening came, the boat was out on the sea, and he was alone on the land. 

6. DISCUSSION QUESTION 1 What does Jesus do for His disciples? Why? In the meantime, what does He do? Why?

7. What is the message for TODAY? Jesus understand the stresses of life His disciples go through In life, there may come times when we are tired, worn out, and looking to rest… It is okay to recharge and recuperate… Jesus goes by Himself and pray…. What about us?

8. 48  And he saw that they were making headway painfully, for the wind was against them. And about the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea. He meant to pass by them,  49  but when they saw him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, and cried out,  50  for they all saw him and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.”  51  And he got into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. And they were utterly astounded,  52  for they did not understand about the loaves, but their hearts were hardened.

9. DISCUSSION QUESTION 2 What does the storm represent? You going through any today? When Jesus comes to us, do we recognise Him? How?

10. What is the message for TODAY? Jesus sees the stresses of life His disciples continues to go through Our lives get filled with challenges and problems Jesus may not come immediately Sometimes we struggle and are not prepared to see Him Our hearts get hardened, we forget the goodness of God

11. 53  When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and moored to the shore.  54  And when they got out of the boat, the people immediately recognized him  55  and ran about the whole region and began to bring the sick people on their beds to wherever they heard he was.  56  And wherever he came, in villages, cities, or countryside, they laid the sick in the marketplaces and implored him that they might touch even the fringe of his garment. And as many as touched it were made well.

12. DISCUSSION QUESTION 3 The people kept on coming. How does that relate to us? Do we stay or do we go?

13. What is the message for TODAY? Jesus sees the needs of the people Our lives may be filled with those who need the Lord Are we frustrated? Do we help? People look for opportunity and take advantage They just need the little bit of Jesus…

14. Practically what shall we do for TODAY? He kept on giving He kept on helping He did not complain that life is unfair He did not seek for recognition from man He saw the needs and strived to meet them How about us? What should we do?

15. PRACTICALLY how do we do that? Be part of God’s family Be filled with the Spirit Know our roles: Pointing to Christ And …. Study/Soak in the Word…

16. PRACTICALLY how do we do that? No expectations of earthly rewards Serving is the reward

17. Blessed be the name of the Lord He is worthy to be praised and adored So we lift up holy hands in one accord Singing blessed be the name Blessed be the name Blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be the name of the Lord
