Malignant melanoma

It is malignant tumour , cell of origin is melanocytes, normally melanocytes are present in dermoepidermal junction Characterised by infiltration of malignant melanocytes into underlying stroma / dermis Some variants may spread horizontally too eg transepidermal spread Melanin pigment will be seen along with oval to spindle shaped melanocytes

Melanocytes are invading into dermis with presence of brown colour pigment.
