Slide Content

Men's Styling Session A comprehensive guide to dressing, grooming, and confidence building for men.

This presentation will cover essential aspects of dressing sense, grooming, and confidence-building tailored for men. We will explore the basics of styling, effective grooming techniques, and tips to enhance confidence while shopping. Introduction

Dressing Sense 01

Men should have clothing in the colors : white, black, navy blue, grey, olive green, brown, and light blue   as these are considered staple and versatile colors that can be easily mixed and matched for various occasions, offering a solid foundation for any wardrobe

To dress well, it's essential to understand your body type. Different fits work better for different shapes. For example, straight-cut clothing suits taller frames, while tailored fits enhance a more compact body shape. Finding the right fit will flatter your physique and improve your overall appearance. Understanding body types and fitting clothes

Most men are pred isposed to being  larger around the waist and hips in relation to the top part of their bodies, especially as they get older. This creates a natural triangular shape with the base at the waist and the tip at the face.

Having a triangular body shape does not mean you are in bad shape, but it presents a challenge in finding clothes that make your entire body appear proportional. Most men's clothing is designed with the opposite effect in mind – broad on top and narrower at the waist.

Tailored patterned blazers:  Wear checked blazers and fitted waistcoats with solid trousers. The mix of prints and solid colors will create the illusion of shape and take the focus away from the larger waist. Vertical stripes:  This pattern creates a streamlined effect that elongates and slims down the upper body. Horizontal stripes are preferred only if they are visible from the chest upward. Jackets with structured shoulders:  Slouchy shoulders on jackets (bomber jackets, for instance) will exaggerate your already sloping shoulder line. Structured shoulders (on a topcoat, for instance) square off your frame. Single-breasted suits:  Instead of going for double-breasted jackets which bulk to the waist, opt for a single-breasted jacket to allow for a more relaxed and slimming fit. Get your jackets tailored for a structured fit on the top but with extra room around the waist. Clothing for men with triangle body shape

Brighter color panels:  Patterns and detailing across the chest and shoulders help broaden the narrow upper torso. Wear jumpers and crew neck tees with color panels across the chest but a slimming darker color like gray, navy, or black around the mid-section. Clothing for men with triangle body shape

Clothing to avoid for men with triangle body shape Fitted polo shirts and roll necks:  Both these styles tend to make the neck and shoulders appear slender while accentuating any roundness in the waist. Brighter colors and busy prints:  Bold and bright patterns will draw attention to your triangular-shaped torso. Work them into your outfit as accents in the form of pocket squares (how to fold a pocket square), glasses, socks, and trainers. Bold belts will only draw attention to the width of your waist.

Clothing to avoid for men with triangle body shape Skinny fits and extreme tapers:  Narrowing trousers draw the eye of an observer to the center of your body. Swap them for wide and straight leg fits that add proportion to your silhouette. High-contrast belts : Avoid belts with high-contrast colors or patterns that draw attention to the waistline. Instead, opt for a more subtle belt to minimize focus on the narrower waist and create a more harmonious appearance.

Colors and patterns that complement men's style Colors can create a powerful visual impact. Neutrals are versatile while bolder colors can express personality. Patterns, like stripes or checks, can add dimension to an outfit. It's important to choose colors and patterns that complement your skin tone and fit the occasion's context. Accessories can elevate an outfit significantly. Watches, belts, hats, and ties are essential components to consider. Choosing the right accessories involves balancing formality with personal style to match the event, whether casual, business, or formal. Accessorizing for different occasions

Grooming & Hygiene 02

The Basics Grooming:  basically, an umbrella term for all the activities that are involved in giving a person a cleaner, tidier and sexier appearance from head to toe, but this is not inclusive of clothes and shoes. Grooming adds to the bathroom closet, but not to the wardrobe.

Bad Breath Bad breath is a colossal turnoff, but how do you know if you have it? This will give you an idea: Lick the  back  of your hand, wait, and smell. Causes of bad breath vary. Some guys resolve it with a toothbrush or fewer  onions . If you still have chronic bad breath despite precautions, see a dentist. You could have an infection or other problems.

Nose and Ear Hair It's cruel: As the hair starts disappearing from your scalp, it sprouts everywhere you don't want it. When it comes to  nose  hairs, don't pluck. First, it hurts. Second, nose hairs actually help filter out the air going into your  lungs . Instead, an electric trimmer to cut them back a bit. You can use the trimmer on ear hairs, too.

Hand and Nail Care Even if you don't pay them any mind, your hands get noticed every day -- every time you shake someone else's, for instance. Dirty or ragged fingernails aren't manly. They're a turnoff. Consider a manicure -- lots of men get them -- to get you on track. If not, do the bare minimum. Trim your nails regularly. Invest a few dollars in a nail brush and use it.

How Not to Smell Go ahead and wear cologne. But if you do, don't  also  use a scented soap, aftershave, deodorant, and face cream. Stinking up the office with a cocktail of clashing manly scents isn't a good idea. When it comes to smell, subtle is best. Something else to consider: the more scented stuff you put on yourself, the higher the odds you'll irritate your skin. https://www.lylablanc.in/blogs/perfumes/perfume-vs-deodorant-the-key-difference-between

Foot Care Of all the body parts that men ignore, your  feet  might be most neglected. But your partner is bound to notice them -- especially if scratched by your toenail in the night. Trim your nails straight across regularly. Soak your feet and sand away some of that  dead skin  with a  pumice stone . You'll both like the results.

Moisturize! Men’s faces tend to be oilier than women’s, but to help avoid wrinkles, it’s still smart to use a daily moisturizer. Men with normal to oily skin can get enough moisture from a light lotion or hydrating gel. If you have drier skin, try a heavier cream.

Soften Up Before You Shave For an easier shave, keep things moist. That’s why it’s smart to do it when you’re fresh out of the shower and coarse beard hairs are wet and more flexible. And if you’re prone to razor burn, try a shaving gel rather than a foam. The newest gels soften hairs even more, so you're less likely to have redness, razor bumps, or ingrown hairs afterward. Other ways to avoid ingrowns : Always shave in the direction of hair growth, and use as few strokes as possible.

Confidence Building 03

Body language plays a significant role in how others perceive you. Standing tall, making eye contact, and giving a firm handshake convey confidence. Adopting an open stance and avoiding crossing arms can make you appear more approachable and self-assured. Positive body language and posture

Overcoming insecurities Many individuals struggle with insecurities, but addressing these feelings is key to building confidence. Engaging in self-reflection and replacing negative thoughts with positive affirmations can greatly enhance self-esteem and reduce anxiety in social situations. Shopping for Men 04

Identifying wardrobe essentials Every man should have a core set of wardrobe staples. Essential items include well-fitting jeans, a tailored blazer, dress shirts, and versatile shoes. Understanding your personal style and what suits you best will help maintain a functional and stylish wardrobe.

Effective shopping involves knowing when to buy, utilizing sales, and comparing prices. Always make a list before shopping to avoid impulse buys. Exploring thrift stores or online marketplaces can yield great deals on quality items. Smart shopping tips and tricks

Investing in a few high-quality items instead of numerous low-cost alternatives can save money in the long run. Plan your purchases around quality basics that stand the test of time and are less likely to require replacement. Balancing budget and quality

Conclusions This session has covered key areas of dressing sense, grooming, confidence building, and effective shopping strategies for men. Implementing these principles can enhance one's overall style and self-assurance.
