Lack of awa r e n ess about t he die t ary re q uire m en t s and n u tritive value of diff e re n t food i s the main cause for pr e vailing maln u trition among scho o l childr e n, preg n ant wom e n, lactating moth e r and ot h er vu l ne r able sections of the communit y .
Nut r ition e d u cation sho u ld b e practical and should be e asily adaptable to the soci o economic status, fo o d habits and the ava i lable local food resources gen e rally ne e ded for t he p u rpose of de m onstration and fe e ding of the locally available audience. Nutrition ed u cation programme shou l d beco m e a p art of the comm u nit y .

The lec t ure should be si m ple a n d too ela b orate. It shou l d be easily adoptable b y the people attending the c o urse. The de m onst r ations shou l d be simp l e and th e se should ma k e good use of loc a lly availab l e resources with the h e lp of which it can be easily adopt e d by the comm u nit y .
The n u trition w o rk should discuss the pre v aili n g n u tritional pr o blem in the c o mmu n ity i n simplest f o rm and the s o lution f o r it.
These are extrem e ly ef f e c tive mode of education. They should be p ra c tical and illustrat i ve and easily u n de r standab l e.
P ost e rs shou l d b e simple and should im m ed i ately catch the attention of t h e v i ewe r s and s hould be written re g ional language. The letters be clearly and easily v is i ble at in the s h ould a di s tance too. Charts a lso should be in a po s iti o n to stimulate the inte r est of the pe o ple. The charts s ho u ld be w el l - balanced with the use a p pr o pr i ate colours and should not be crowde d .
Ex h ibitio n s ha v ing pos t e r s a n d charts are the best mode for ed u cating t he com m unit y . It s hould be set u p k e epi n g in mind t h e ed u cational l e vel of the people the ed u cation programme is ca t e r ing to.
