4 PRNCIPLE Vitamins are important growth factors required for growth and multiplication of certain microorganisms. The microorganisms require growth factors in micro or nanograms. The basis of this assay is to measure the ability of test organism to synthetise the factor by utilising the substance being assayed under a proper nutrition conditions .
