What is JSY Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) is a safe motherhood intervention under the National Health Mission. It is being implemented with the objective of reducing maternal and neonatal mortality by promoting institutional delivery among poor pregnant women. The scheme, launched on 12 April 2005 by the Hon’ble Prime Minister

Registration and filling up of JSY card Each village of 1000 population is expected to have one ASHA or an equivalent worker registered with the sub-centre and the PHC of that concerned village, who would be working under the supervision of the ANM and in tandem with the AWW. Under JSY, her main role would be: To organize delivery care services for the registered expectant mother, To assist in immunization of the new born and To act as a propagator/motivator of family planning services.

Calculation of EDD(Expected date of delivery One simple and common method for calculating your delivery date is as follows: Mark down the date when your last period started. Add seven days. Count back three months. Add a whole year. For example, if the first day of your last period was April 9, 2020, adding seven days will make the date April 16, 2020. Counting back three months results in the date of January 16. Finally, adding a year yields an estimated delivery date of January 16, 2021... Resources that help me to estimate due date. There are many due date calculators available to help you estimate your due date. These tools allow you to enter the date of the first day of your last period and then hit the calculate button. The tool will then tell you an estimated due date for your baby. Several of these tools include: American Pregnancy Association, ~Pregnancy Calculator. March of Dimes, ~Due Date Calculator.

Prenatal care The ideal initial prenatal care visit occurs before conception with a pre-conceptive visit. A pre-conceptive visit allows modification of behavioral choice, medication and optimizing medical concerns before conception.

Antenatal check up Planed examination and observation for the women from conception till the birth. Schedule for antenatal visit Timing of the first visit/registration - The first visit or registration of a pregnant woman for ANC should take place as soon as the pregnancy is suspected. The first visit should take place within 12 weeks. Second visit - Between 14 and 26 weeks Third visit - Between 28 and 34 weeks Fourth visit - Between 36 weeks and term.

Importance of prenatal and antenatal care Reduce the risk of pregnancy complications.  Reduce the fetus's and infant's risk for complications. Help ensure the medications women take are safe.  Decrease the risk of certain birth defect. Diagnosis and testing pregnancy complication.

Informing dates of three essential check ups Most pregnant women can follow a schedule like this: Weeks 4 to 28 of pregnancy. Go for one checkup every 4 weeks (once a month). Weeks 28 to 36 of pregnancy. Go for one checkup every 2 weeks (twice a month). Weeks 36 to 41 of pregnancy. Go for one checkup every week (once a week).

Identification of health facility where delivery will take place Delivery in health facilities has been promoted to improve maternal and child health care. Proper take care and full support provide by health facility center. Antenatal checkup services would be provided by OBGY specialists/Radiologist/physicians with support from private sector doctors to supplement the efforts of the government sector. Importance of facility based delivery Increasing the proportion of women who deliver in a health facility can be an important means in reducing maternal mortality in low-income settings. ... Deliveries in health facilities can ensure that women are attended by skilled personnel and also link women to the referral system in the case of any complications.

Identification of means of transport Transport of pregnant women emergencies in India : an analysis of the 108 ambulance service system data. The transport of pregnant women to an appropriate health facility plays a pivotal role in preventing maternal deaths. In India, state-run call-centre based ambulance systems (‘108’ and ‘102’), along with district-level Janani Express and local community-based innovations, provide transport services for pregnant women.
