Microprocessor A microprocessor is a computer processor which incorporates the functions of a computer's central processing unit (CPU) on a single integrated circuit (IC) Accepts binary data as input, processes it according to instructions stored in its memory and provides results (also in binary form) as output 2

Brain of Microprocessor ALU performs all arithmetic and logical operations on the data received from input devices or memory. Register array consists of a series of registers like accumulator (A), B, C, D etc. which acts as temporary fast access memory locations for processing data. Control unit controls the flow of instructions and data throughout the system. 3

MCQs A microprocessor with the necessary support circuits will include at least two memory ICs: ROM or EPROM, and a RAM. (True or False) A microcontroller integrates multichip systems with RAM, ROM, and I/O. (True or False) A microprocessor has a on chip ROM (True or False) Which of the following part of the microprocessor is close related to register? ( Processor / CPU / ALU / Memory) ________________ is the best example of embedded technology. (a. Microcontrollers / b. Microprocessors / c Both) 11
