<header> Headers are those little identifiers that run across the top of your document, providing important background information about it. They include such things as page numbers, dates, book or chapter titles, and author name. These small signposts improve the usability of your document, and they make it look professional. 2
Headers are used In: Add page numbers. Add more elaborate header areas for document title, date, and other informatioans. Add the document file name and path. 3
To insert a header: 4 1 2 3 Select the Insert tab. Click the Header. A drop-down menu will appear. S elect Blank to insert a blank header or choose one of the built-in options.
5 4 5 6 Type the desired information into the header or footer. The Design tab will appear on the Ribbon, and the header will appear in the document. When you're finished, click Close Header in the Design tab, or hit the Esc key.
REMOVE HEADER For example, say that header information, such as a document path and file name, is no longer current or desired. In the Header & footer group, click header. At the bottom of the header gallery, click remove header. That wipes the header clean.
