•Microsporophyllorthestamenisthemalereproductive
partoftheflower,whichconsistsfilament,antherand
connective.
•Antheristhefertilepartofmicrosporophyllsometimesit
issterilecalledstaminode.
•Thefilamentistheslenderstalkofthestamenandthe
antheristheexpendedheadbornebythefilamentatits
tip.

•Ineachlobeafewcellsinthehypodermalregionbecome
differentiatedbytheirlargesize,radialgrowth,densecytoplasm
andconspicuousnuclei.
•Thereismuchvariationinthenumberofcellsofarchesporium.
•Generally,thearchesporiumconsistsofatwotothreecell,wide
platerunningalongtheentirelengthofthelobe.
•Theextentofarchesporiumvariesbothlengthwiseandbreadth
wise.

primaryparietallayerformthewallofthesporangium.
•Thecellsoftheepidermisdevideanticlinallyonly.

•Sometimesitscellsmaybecomegreatlylignifiedorcutinized.

onlyfewdivisionsornodivisionsatcell,thusgivingrisetoavery
smallgroupofsporogenouscellsortheprimarysporogenouscells
themselvesfunctiondirectlyasthemicrosporemothercells.

•Eachpollengrainsconsistsofasinglemicroscopiccell,possessing
twocoats:-1)theexine
