2. INTRODUCTION Brief Overview of Millennium Mills Millennium Mills was created by millers William Vernon and sons of West Float, Birkenhead in 1905 with construction overseen by W.A. Vernon, the principal’s son. (Mueller, 2000 ) Historical Significance Originally it was built by William Vernon and Sons from Birkenhead in 1905. At that time many flour mills were built by the local businessmen including Joseph Rankand cooperative wholesale society.
