Big data refers to the vast and complex collections of structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data that are too large and complex for traditional data processing systems to handle. This data, which is continuously growing, is generated from various sources like computers, mobile devices, and sensors, and it's used by organizations to make informed decisions, improve processes, and create better products and services.
With the increasing number of vehicles, traffic levels are also increasing all over the world giving rise to many new and unique traffic scenarios. At the same time there is advancement and digitization of hardware which is useful for real-world traffic management like adaptive traffic lights, speed detectors, pollutant emission level sensors, smart cameras etc. In our Project, we aim to demonstrate and present the results of simulation of three such scenarios i ) Deadlock detection scenario demonstrates in real time which junctions are in a deadlock state i.e. vehicles in all directions at the intersection are queued up. ii) Emission detection scenario presents a graphical visualization of the level of emissions of different kinds of pollutants at all the junctions in the network. iii) Placement of speed detectors scenario can be used to identify precise locations in the network which are most prone to speed limit violations. These simulations work on any road network and with different kinds of traffic flows and modalities. 32
