Introduction Communication is a major means by which the leading and controlling functions of management are primarily accomplished. Communication is seen as a process through which information is exchanged and understand by two or more people usually with the untended to motive or influence behavior. Robbins (2011:342 Communication in management is a major challenge and most top managers sometimes don’t just see it as a major problem. Sometimes this is a matter of understanding communication difficulties and techniques. Conflict is a process in which one party perceives that its interests are being opposed or negatively affected by another parts. Communication can help to minimized conflict in an organization and also prevent unnecessary misunderstanding . Communication is not only used for avoiding organizational problem but also it is the basis for the organization objective achievement, increasing productivity, job satisfaction, getting information about competitor dimension and any field of study ( Mcshane , 1976). However , Poor or inaccurate communication can lead to conflict and negativity in the work place. Because of lack of complete understanding of the use of communication between people, there are different problems happening in different areas that is easily solved by effective communication only. Problem statement As long as people in organization work together, conflict is unavoidable . This means as people work together the incompatibility of goals, attitudes, emotion or behaviors leads to disagreement or opposition between them. Conflict occur because people do not agree on goals, issues, perception and people inevitable compete for the scarce resources (many cullian , 1996). E ffective communication is only solution for the incompatibility and conflict. However, there are factor that affect effective communication, such as filtering refers to a sender manipulating information so that the receiver will view it more favorable, selective perception receiver in the communication process selectively see and hear based on their need, motivation, experience, back ground and other personal characteristics. 1/14/2025 Prepared by Mirtinesh Ayane. 5

Cont.. Language is also another factor that affects communication because in organization employee usually came from diverse back ground and therefore they have different speech (Robbins, 1996). In organization leader or managers who are able to keep channels of communication will have a great chance of understanding of other belief, value, need and emotion (marshal&robson,2012). Objectives of study General Objectives The Main objective of this study is to assess the role of effective Communication in managing conflict in the Case of Sawla Town Administration. Specific objectives To examine the contribution of effective communication in managing conflict among employee in Sawla town administration. Significance of study The findings of this study will important for different organizations to manage inter employee conflicts so that good working environment be created. This is also important to make each and every worker be efficient and effective in his/her day to day activities. Hence, organizational productivity will be maximized. One of the beneficially of these studies may be the organization in which the study is under taken. Scope of studies Even if the communication has many roles in different situation and organization the researcher will focus on the role of effective communication in managing inter employee conflict. The studies focus on key to employee motivation and performance He didn’t address effective communication in conflict management inter organization employee. 2. (Torrington and Hall, 1991) the art of persuasion and the effort to find the correct emotional match with your audience is necessary. These study focus on finding correct emotion through communication. They didn’t address role of effective communication in solving the employee conflict 2 Oyetunde & Oladejo (2012) communication approach and firms performance appraisal of Nigerian Bottling Company (Coca-Cola), Ilorin-Nigeria. Research Methodology Research Design : These research papers will use two types of research design. These are Descriptive and cross sectional. Descriptive research involves gathering data that describe events and then organize, tabulates, depicts and describe the data collection. Cross sectional design used because the researcher needs to make only one contact with the study population. Data collection methods In these study we will use one of popular data collection methodology which is a questionnaire. A questionnaire is an instrument that will use to gather data, which allows a measurement for or against a particular viewpoint. A questionnaire has the ability to collect a large amount of information in a reasonably quick space of time. The questionnaires enable the person administering them to explain the purpose of the study and to give meaning of the items that may not be clear. The researcher will use questionnaires to collect data from 41 employees in Sawla town administration. Cont.. Target Population Target population for the research will employees of Sawla town administration, there are 579 employees participating in the administration. Sampling technique The sampling technique that used in these study will simple random sampling from probability sampling. Data Preprocessing and analysis method The collected data will edit, classifies, examine and corrects by using quantitative method of data analysis. By using descriptive statistics, the data will efficiently analyze and interprets by using table, pie chart and percentage. Conclusion Communication is not only used for avoiding organizational problem but also it is the basis for the organization objective achievement, increasing productivity, job satisfaction, getting information about competitor dimension and any field of study Generally, our study focus on the role effective communication in conflict management in the case of sawula town administration specifically inter employee conflict . also, our research use literature review for further understanding and descriptive and cross-sectional research design as well as mixed approach.
