MOOC The abbreviation MOOC - stand for Massive Open Online Course ( Bryan Alexander and Dave Cormier) .

WHAT IS A MOOC? According to (Booker, Ellis. 2013) the Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) is an online course aimed at unlimited participation and open access via the web. MOOC is a model for delivering learning content online to any person who wants to take a course, with no limit on attendance for the purpose of self-regulation learning. Cost less online course like all universities courses that are creditable.

MOOC AS AN ONLINE COURSE This above image shows how the technology surrounding the world as the MOOC is an online course for the world.

TYPES OF MOOCs Although MOOCs often open access features, such as: Connectivism and open licensing of content, structure, and learning goals. Connectivist mooc. xMOOCs like mass/social media and group work. community/task based MOOC. cMOOCs like co-operation with peer and openness.

PRINCIPLES OF CONNECTIVISM Learning and knowledge rests in diversity of opinions. Learning is the process of connecting specialized nodes and requiring information also the knowledge. Learning may reside in non human appliances. Capacity to know more is more critical than what is currently known. Maintaining connections is needed to facilitate continual learning. Ability to see connections between fields, ideas, and concepts is a core skill. Currency (accurate, up-to-date knowledge) is the intent of all connectivism learning activities.

What is the purpose of creating MOOCs? Is to increase access to higher education, reduce costs, and reinvigorate teaching and learning for the next youth. The cheapest cost for education and unlimited attendance. MOOCs provide interactive userfora that help build a community for students, professors, and teaching assistants. Students with no access to formal learning could watch or listen to classes for free, wherever they were.

Advantages MOOCs offer the entire learning community equal rights to education. Pedagogically, MOOCs are designed to be extremely interactive. It uses all the interactive media available on the internet to engage students. The various tools used are blogs, videos, podcasts and forums that are embedded into the programs seamlessly. It increase self-regulation through students by working on their own. It attract young people as this nowadays they are very interested to internet staff.

Disadvantages   In MOOCs, the teachers and professors deal with a huge audience, as a result, they are unable to give active feedbacks for assignments and tests to the students. There is no way teachers can interact directly with students and engage them. It have a lot of confusion that lead to high drop-out rate of the course as there is no facilitator.

Briefly history about MOOC The word MOOC was mentioned Bryan Alexander and Dave Cormier and this label was end up posted to a course (CCK08) which was managed by George Siemens and Stephen Downes. The CCK08 was a fully open course that could be followed online and for free (there was also a paid, certified option). In 2004, George Siemens and Stephen Downes develop the theory of Connectivism, “the thesis that knowledge is distributed across a network of connections.

MOOC’S MODEL Four essential elements for successful MOOC: Autonomy- Students decide their limit of participation. Diversity- Students are from different background, countries and they having different experiences. Openness- MOOCs should be free or cheaper for the purpose of allowing every person to participate. Interactivity- Student should chat, social networking, collaboration, meeting and video.

Designing a MOOC: using social media tools

Future of Education MOOC 1. Net pedagogies 2. Entrepreneurship and commercial activity 3. Big data and analytics 4. Distributed Research 5. Power Shifts

MOOC AS A COURSE MOOC IS A VERY GOOD COURSE FOR EVYONE.

My views for the used of MOOCs in future Personally my field of interest is Life Sciences and Languages that I will like to pursue in my future MOOC experience. The topics through Life Sciences is, environment studies, photosynthesis, human evolution, etc for the knowledge explore. And also in Languages I will like to see language improving for all people, I will also like to get the course for my mother tongue (IsiZulu) on MOOC. Seeding our country became an multilingualism by the use o MOOC.

The course I will like to enroll through MOOC I will like to enroll my Honours for Education of Zulu language through MOOC.
