CLASSIFICATION OF TRIANGLES

CLASSIFICATION OF TRIANGLES ACCORDING TO SIZE

1.EQUILATERAL TRIANGLE It is a triangle with ALL SIDES EQUAL. This type of triangle is also considered as EQUIANGULAR.

2.ISOSCELES TRIANGLE It is a triangle with TWO SIDES ARE EQUAL.

∠A is called the VERTEX ANGLES ∠B and ∠C are called BASE ANGLES AB = AC

3.SCALENE TRIANGLE It is a triangle with NO EQUAL SIDES .

CLASSIFICATION OF TRIANGLES ACCORDING TO ANGLES

1.ACUTE TRIANGLE It is a triangle with THREE ACUTE angles.

2.RIGHT TRIANGLE It is a triangle with a RIGHT angle. 90

In What is the hypotenuse?   2. What are its legs?

3. OBTUSE TRIANGLE It is a triangle with a OBTUSE angle.

Now, can you tell me all the triangles being mentioned?

ACTIVITY TIME! MISSION CONSTRUCTION

You will be divided into 4 – 6 groups. You will be given a construction paper, 1/8 illustration board, scissor, glue and a ruler/protractor. Given those materials, you will draw amd create all types of triangles that were discussed lately in a construction paper. Then , cut and paste it on the illustration board. Upon drawing, you will provide a real life example of each type of triangles. (e. g. The roof of the house can illustrate an isosceles triangle). Once the groups are all done, the teacher will call the leader or any representative from each group to present their output in class.

CRITERIA Construction – 15 Connection to Real-Life – 5 Creativity and Neatness – 5 Presentation – 5 Total: 30 points

PRESENTATION TIME! MISSION CONSTRUCTION

EVALUATION Answer a drill in the book Warm – up Practice C, D, and E (1, 2, AND 3) on page 384 – 385.

ASSIGNMENT Research in the Internet about angles of a triangle. Find some concrete examples that show how to solve the angle of a triangle. Outputs will be written on your notebook.

THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS!
