Basic Text Editing in Microsoft Word MS Word – Lesson 2
Typing & Navigating Text • Start typing directly in the document area • Use arrow keys to move cursor • Use mouse clicks for quick navigation • Page Up / Page Down for scrolling
Inserting & Deleting Text • Type to insert text at cursor location • Backspace → Delete text before cursor • Delete key → Delete text after cursor • Select text + type to replace
Cut, Copy, Paste, Undo, Redo • Cut (Ctrl+X) → Removes text and copies to clipboard • Copy (Ctrl+C) → Copies text without removing • Paste (Ctrl+V) → Inserts text from clipboard • Undo (Ctrl+Z) → Reverses last action • Redo (Ctrl+Y) → Restores undone action
Find & Replace • Find → Locate specific words quickly (Ctrl+F) • Replace → Swap one word/phrase with another (Ctrl+H) • Replace All → Change all occurrences at once
AutoCorrect & Thesaurus • AutoCorrect → Fixes common typing mistakes automatically Example: teh → the • Thesaurus (Shift+F7) → Suggests synonyms and antonyms
