What is mud therapy ??? Mud corresponds to the Earth element of the five elements, which the universe is made up of.

Mud therapy is the process of using one of the natural element of the universe for healing purpose It is a treatment in naturopathy.

Why we consider to use mud as a mode of treatment among the five elements???? The dark color of mud helps in absorbing different colors and conveying them to the body, giving it therapeutic properties shape and consistency may be modified with ease, just by changing the water content, which makes it easy to use.  it retains the coolness over a longer period of time ( THAN WATER ) easily available and a cost effective treatment option.

TYPES OF MUD THERAPY BROADLY DIVIDED IN TO TWO

MUD PACKS

The advantages of the mud pack include retention of moisture and the prolonged coolness as compared to other packs. The cool moisture of the pack relaxes the pores of the skin, draws the blood to the surface, relieves inner congestion, promotes heat radiation and eliminates morbid matter.

MUD BATH

It is similar to mud pack, but applied to a large portion of the body. The paste is spread on a sheet and wrapped around the body. It is then covered with one or two blankets. The mud bath is followed by cleansing bath by a hot water shower and then a cold water shower. The bath tones up the skin and reenergizes the skin tissues , by improving blood circulation.

BENEFITS OF MUD THERPAY skin complexion and acts on skin spots and patches to reduce them skin diseases such as Psoriasis, Urticaria, and leprosy can be cured.

Application of the pack around the eyes is useful in cases of conjunctivitis, hemorrhages in the eyeball, itching, allergy, errors of refraction like short sight and long sight and particularly beneficial in glaucoma where it helps to reduce eyeball stress.   It is applied over the fore head and helps to heal congestive headache relieves pain immediately.

An abdomen mud pack helps in all kinds of indigestion. It is very helpful in decreasing intestinal heat and stimulates peristalsis , there by relief to constipation For wounds and skin diseases, application of mud is the only true bandage.

TYPES OF MUD ……

1.Black mud: Dark cotton soil having some greasiness is suitable for mud therapy as it is rich in minerals and also retains water for long time. 2. Mud from Dead Sea: It is contains more than 20 kinds of salts and minerals including Magnesium, Calcium, Potassium Bromide, Silicates, Natural Tar and organic elements. While these beneficial minerals are useful for  healing any kind of skin disorders. the presence of silicates make its masks very beneficial for softening and cleansing skin. The mud enhances blood circulation and leaves the skin with a glow. 

3.Moor Mud: It is mud produced over thousands of years from organic residue of flowers, grasses and herbs. This residue transformed over several years to fine paste which contains fulvic acids, vitamins, amino acids, plant hormones, humic acids  in a form which could be easily absorbed by human body. The mud has anti-inflammatory and anti-aging effects. It is also useful in conditions such as Arthritis and recovery from injury in sports.
