Multimodal text Comprising more than one mode. A multimodal text uses a combination of two or more communication modes, for example print, image, and spoken text as in film or computer presentations

Multimodal text Communication does not limit to relaying messages through verbal and written text. Communication uses multimodals . With the advent of technology, different modes of communication came to existence. They are called multimodal.

Elements of multimodal text LINGUISTIC - vocabulary, structure, grammar of oral and written language VISUAL - color, vectors and viewpoint in still and moving images AUDIO OR AURAL- volume, pitch and rhythm of music and sound GESTURAL - movement, facial expression, and body language SPATIAL - proximity, direction, position of lay out organization of objects in space

The five modes VISUAL - REFERS TO IMAGES AND CHARACTERS THAT PEOPLE SEE (EX. POSTER/ SIGNAGES) AUDIO OR AURAL- FOCUSED ON SOUND INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO MUSIC, SOUND EFFECTS, AMBIENT NOISES, SILENCE, TONE OF VOICE, VOLUME, EMPHASIS AND ACCENT. (EX. SPEECHES) GESTURAL - REFERS TO THE WAY MOVEMENT IS INTERPRETED (FACIAL EXPRESSIONS, HAND GESTURES, BODY LANGUAGE, AND INTERACTION BETWEEN PEOPLE)

4. LINGUISTIC- REFERS TO WRITTEN OR SPOKEN WORDS. THE MODE INCLUDES WORD CHOICE, DELIVERY OF WRITTEN OR SPOKEN TEXT, THE ORGANIZATION OF WORDS AND IDEAS. 5. SPATIAL- REFERS TO THE ARRANGEMENT OF ELEMENTS IN SPACE (EX. ARRANGEMENT OF CHAIRS IN A CLASSROOM)
