MY PERSONAL PHILOSOPHY
BY: JUANITA H. NAVARRO
MAED-STUDENT
Each one of us have different philosophies and perceptions in life. Maybe my own
philosophy is quite different from yours or if there is a similarity maybe in some areas or
genres. I am a person that comes from a very poor family. A person that faced too much trials
and tragedies before I became successful. My family situation before is too different from
others. Every time I saw a happy family I felt too much jealous. My parents always left us even
I was in my elementary years. At the age of 6, I was able to cook and washed our dresses
because my parents isn’t around to do it. I could still remember how many times I cried
because I doesn’t want them to left us but they didn’t listen to me. I said to myself, does I’m
important to my parents? Why they didn’t listen to me? I need them. I need their presence,
care, love and affection like what other parents did to their children.
I’ve grown without my parent’s companion. I have started my life’s journey without their
presence. If they were at home, they were always quarrelling each other. I never understand
before how was it feels like to have a happy family life. My life seems so miserable. They didn’t
even let me understand the importance of having a good future. In short, I am the only one
discovered the importance of it. I never felt that they valued my achievements. It was my
decision to study hard to earn a degree in order to have a better life in the future. In my
teenage years I could say that my life was not meaningful like other children. I could still
remembered the time when my neighbors bullied me because we don’t had food to eat. We
looked like beggars because sometimes we asked others their leftover foods or if there’s not we
eat camote tops, or whatever we may got from our farm just to fill our empty stomachs. It
seems that my parents escaped from their obligations.
Above all, I could say that I am so lucky because behind all my experiences, God never
left me. He filled the emptiness that I had been felt. That’s why I became who am I today.
My philosophies in life looks like this. I do not want others experience what I have been
through. That’s why as a teacher I always tried my very best to help my pupils understand the
importance of studying and how their parents sacrifice for them to have a better life. I am so
fun of giving advises to my children because I don’t want them to suffer in the near future. I
like doing things that can give happiness to others. I always prefer to fulfill others need rather
than myself. Giving what is the best for them is what I’d like to do. Many says my heart is so
wide that even others can occupied. I never look at what will remain on me because I love and
trust God above all. I may not become who am I today without Him. That is why I tried to be
good like how God does because I wanted to be a good example to others. I hate people who
have no perceptions in life. Who feels happy when others suffer too much from pain or make
other people’s life miserable. Who contented only of what he/she have. Who never sacrifice in
order to have a meaningful and fruitful life. I hate people who uses others just to satisfy their
needs. I hate ambitious people without showing actions in order to succeed. When it comes to
family, I had promised myself to give my very best. I do not want them to experience what I
had been experienced during my younger age. I always bear in mind that our life is too short.
That’s why we need to show the goodness of ours to others for us to be remembered by many
and to serve as the best example for new generation.
We need to value each life. Every day, there is always a struggle to face and trials to
overcome. By the time we feel hopeless we should remember not to lose hope. Instead, just
keep on believing that God value you as a person and he doesn’t want you to walk in a wrong
directions.
