DAVANAGERE UNIVERSITY HPPC Govt.First grade College Challakere-577522 DEPARTMENT OF MATHEMATICS Established in 1983 and at present all courses are running in semester system Government of Karnataka

The Department offers following programs: Department is Established in 1983 and at present all courses are running in the semester system under CBCS and National Educational Policy. Science students can opt the B.Sc Course with Mathematics as one of the core subject in NEP and combination of subjects opted by the students in our institute are 1. B.Sc - Mathematics ,Physics and Chemistry 2. B.Sc - Physics and Mathematics 3. B.Sc – Chemistry and Mathematics Third subject is an open elective and that should opt from either humanities subject or Commerce subject as per directions given by the State Board of Higher Education and Davangere Univerisity The admission procedure is purely on merit basis and maintaining roaster system. Seats are filled as per directions given by the University authority.

Further for reference , we are planning to keep few books in the Department Library to gain additional skills in Mathematics subject to the students . Computers: separate computers in the department and the students are well equipped with computer knowledge from computer laboratory and capable to write code for different type of problems in Mathematics syllabus .

Future Plans Planning to bring M.Sc course with affliation from Davangere University Planning to run 4 years honors degree course with Mathematics as major subject Planning to give coaching for entrance examinations to that students those who are willing to study Post Graduation Courses(M.Sc., B.Ed., etc ). Planning to give coaching for competitive examinations to that students those who are willing in employment after graduation. Planning to conduct workshop and training programs for development of students skill in writing code on Mat lab , Mathematica and Python software which helps them in involving research activities.
