Narrative report how Shielded Metal Arc Welding conducted in the training center. Trainers were able to perform the competencies in order to pass the National Assessment for SMAW NCII. With the help of trainers the students were able to improve and develop their skills for them to become ready to be employed in their respective field such as construction, engineering, and metal works. The students were able to weld different welding position using steel plate and steel pipe. The were able to comply with the minimum requirements of the TESDA to pass the assessment.

Joint Delivery Voucher Program SHIELDED METAL ARC WELDING NCII
Joint Delivery Voucher Program Orientation In this JDVP orientation, the head of the DepEd EPP/TLE coordinator, the principal of the Marinduque National High School, and the president of the Marinduque Manpower and Trade Skills Institute Inc. (training school partners) introduced the JDVP to the students together with their parents. They further discussed the goal and relevance of the program to the SMAW students and how the program will be conducted.
I. BASIC COMPETENCIES Participate in a work communication In this competency, the trainers gave the students a written task in which they were given situations or scenarios that exercised their communication skills in written form. After the written task, the students were grouped and presented scenarios or situations that showed communication in a workplace.
I. BASIC COMPETENCIES B. Work in a team environment After the discussion under this competency, the students were given written task on how to work in a team environment effectively and efficiently by writing an essay. Then they were grouped to perform a role playing on how to work or collaborate with team leader and team members in a workplace.
I. BASIC COMPETENCIES C. Solve/Address General Workplace Problems After the discussion under this competency, the students were given written task on how to work address and solve problems in a workplace by creating a concept map in which in each problem they listed or enumerated possible solutions to the problem. After that, they shared their work to their partners.
I. BASIC COMPETENCIES D. Develop career and life decision After the discussion under this competency, the students were asked what they want to become in the future and how they will work on it to achieve what they desire. The students stated different plans and strategies in order to become successful after a few years.

Contribute to workplace innovation After the discussion under this competency, the students were given a written task on how to create an innovation in a workplace that will help them to maximize all of the resources purposely and efficiently. The trainers selected few students to share their work in front of the class.
I. BASIC COMPETENCIES F. Present relevant information After the discussion under this competency, the students were asked on how to present their ideas effectively and in good manner to their team leader, team members, bosses, and clients in a workplace.
I. BASIC COMPETENCIES G. Practice occupational safety and health policies and procedures After the discussion under this competency, the students were grouped and asked to present on how they practice occupational safety and health policies and procedures in a workplace by a short skit. They were provided materials needed such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and materials for their activity.
I. BASIC COMPETENCIES H. Exercise Efficient and Effective Sustainable Practices in the Workplace After the discussion under this competency, the students were grouped and asked to present on how they exercise efficient and effective sustainable practices in a workplace by a short skit. They were provided materials needed such as Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and materials for their activity.

II. COMMON COMPETENCIES B. Interpret Drawings and Sketches After the discussion under this competency, the students were given a written activity in which they interpreted what drawings presented and sketched a simple layout of a weld project.
II. COMMON COMPETENCIES C. Perform Industry calculation After the discussion under this competency, the students were given a written activity in which they converted measurement from English system to metric system and vice versa. They were given materials that used in measuring the measurement they got in the activity.
II. COMMON COMPETENCIES D. Contribute to Quality System After the discussion under this competency, the students were given a written task in which they wrote an essay on how to contribute to quality system in the workplace.
II. COMMON COMPETENCIES Use of hand tools After the discussion under this competency, the students were asked to perform how to properly use the hand tools in SMAW.
II. COMMON COMPETENCIES F. Prepare Weld Materials After the discussion under this competency, the students were asked to prepare weld materials based on what they had learned.
II. COMMON COMPETENCIES G. Set-up Welding Equipment After the discussion under this competency, the students were individually perform the proper set up of welding equipment. In order to find out that they succeed was by testing ii by welding metals.
II. COMMON COMPETENCIES H. Fit-up Welding Materials After the discussion under this competency, the students were asked to prepare their welding materials as they performed the fit-up of welding materials which was joining two pipe ensuring the proper v-groove, root gap, and fitted pipes.
II. COMMON COMPETENCIES I. Repair Welds After the discussion under this competency, the students were asked to perform the repairing of welds.
III. CORE COMPETENCY A. Weld Carbon Steel Plates and Pipes Using SMAW After the discussion under this core competency, the students were asked to perform the welding of pipe using SMAW, from 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G, and 6G. The trainees performed the following correct process of welding passes, the root pass, hot pass, and capping.
