Festivals which are celebrated by the entire nation is called as National festival

They are three national festivals in India. They are: INDEPENDENCE DAY REPUBLIC DAY GANDHI JAYANTHI

INDEPENDENCE DAY Independence day i s celebrated on 15 th August The Prime Minister of our country hoists the flag at Red Fort in Delhi and gives a speech

REPUBLIC DAY India became republic on 26 th January, 1950. We celebrate it as Republic Day. National flag is hoisted in school, colleges, Government offices and other places.

GANDHI JAYANTI Mahatma Gandhi’s full name is Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. He is also known as the Father of the Nation. His birthday is on 2 nd october and it is celebrated as Gandhi Jayanthi .

It is a tri colour flag. Saffron stands for Sacrifice White stands for peace and purity Green stands for prosperity Ashoka chakra is in the middle of the flag. It is in blue colour. There are 24 spokes in the Ashoka chakra. It inspire Indians to work tirelessly for 24 hours.
