Negative sentence

2. Sentence a group of words, usually containing a verb, that expresses a thought in the form of a statement, question, instruction, or exclamation and starts with a capital letter when written: (Cambridge Dictionary of English)

3. Sentence Sentence is structurally and meaningfully complete as per the rules of grammar. ex. Flower he elephant horse sentence. Noam Chomsky, An American linguist and political theorist’s famous example ex. Colourless green ideas sleep furiously.

4. Sentence Assertive sentence ends with full-stop(.). ex. He writes a book every year. Interrogative sentence ends with question mark (?). ex. What do you want? ex. Can you help me? Impetrative sentence begins with verb and ends with full-stop. ex. Look at the screen. Exclamatory sentence ends with exclamation (!) mark ex. How lucky you are!

5. Negative Sentence Negative sentence contains negation in the form of words: No, Not, None, Nothing and Never . 1. There is no tiger in the forest. 2. Mary is not a lazy girl 3. None of the boys attended the last lecture. 4. D onald is doing nothing . 5. Svetlana has never failed in examinations.

6. Negative Sentence In English language the word, not is used regularly: Used after primary and modal auxiliary verbs: They are going to Pune. ( Affirmative) They are not going to Pune . (Negative) I can come for the class. (Affirmative) I can not come for the class. (Negative) Sometimes used in contracted forms: They aren’t going to Pune. I can’t come for the class.

7. Negative Sentence Used along with do, does and did: do not -don’t does not - doesn’t did not -didn’t Examples: 1. I do not teach French Language. 2. James does not buy burgers. 3. Students did not fail last year.
