OUR BRAIN
Brain controls the movement of our body and its various parts.
LEARN Brain enables us to learn, think, memorise and apply logic. THINK MEMORISE
Brain keeps our heart and lungs working.

CEREBRUM Right Cerebral Hemisphere Left Cerebral Hemisphere
FUCTION OF CEREBRUM
FUCTION OF CEREBRUM
CEREBELLUM Cerebellum It is located at the back of the brain, below the cerebrum.
Cerebellum helps us to stand upright.
BRAIN STEM Brain Stem Brain stem lies beneath the Cerebellum. It is also known as the MEDULLA
Brain stem connects the rest of the brain with the spinal cord.
Do you know? The front of your brain is larger than any other animal’s brain even that of a dinosaur!

SPINAL CORD
Nerves are the pathways through which messages are transferred.
SENSORY NERVES Sensory nerves bring messages from the sense organs to the brain.
When a mosquito bites your figure, a message is sent to the brain by the sensory nerve.
MOTOR NERVES Motor nerves carry messages from the brain to the other parts of the body.
When a mosquito bites our figure, the motor nerve sends the message back from the brain to shoo away the mosquito.
MIXED NERVES Mixed nerves carry messages to and from the brain.
Label the parts of the brain correctly CEREBRUM CEREBELLUM BRAIN STEM
VOLUNTARY ACTION Jumping Ironing clothes
Pumping of heart Blinking of eyes Yawning INVOLUNTARY ACTION
Reflex actions A reflex action is an involuntary action.
When a mobile phone vibrates, which of the following nerves sends the message to the brain that someone is calling? Sensory Nerves Motor Nerves Mixed Nerves
