network characteristics

introduction

Network characteristic Subjective Quality characteristics Network Characteristics And Requirements Time Scale Service Level Agreement

Subjective Quality Characteristics The network operates quickly and without delays. Traffic is reliably transmitted. Service is provided continuously. Support and help desk services are working well, providing useful advice and really helping to solve the problem. The provider not only transmits my traffic but also protects my network from virus attacks and intrusions. I am always able to check how fast the provider transmits my traffic and whether data losses occur.

Network Characteristics And Requirements using network characteristics, the subscriber can formulate specific requirements to the network. Performance - network must transmit information at specific rate Reliability - without losses or delays in service Security - ensure protection against unauthorized access or forgery Provider - quality of service characteristic that are interest only to service provider.

Time Scale Long-term characteristics - Defined for period ranging from several months to several years. - Also called project-solution characteristic. Medium-term characteristic - defined by time intervals ranging from several seconds to several days. - average rate of traffic flow or average delays in packet delivery are the examples of such characteristics. Short-term characteristic - defined by intervals corresponding to the rate of processing individual packets (milliseconds or microseconds). - buffering time or time spent by individual packet in queue

Service Level Agreement The contract or agreement is natural basis for normal cooperation between service provider and their client.
