Network communication and mobile os By Keenan &Pradeepta
Network Communication Network communication involves connecting different systems and devices to share data and information . This setup includes hardware like computers, routers, switches, and modems, as well as software protocols that manage how data flows between these devices.
Computer Network A computer network is a set of computers sharing resources located on or provided by network nodes . Computers use common communication protocols over digital interconnections to communicate with each other. These interconnections are made up of telecommunication network technologies based on physically wired, optical , and wireless radio-frequency methods that may be arranged in a variety of network topologies .
Types of Network Local area network (LAN) - collection of devices connected together in one physical location, such as a building Personal area network (PAN) - connects devices within a user’s immediate area. Campus area network (CAN) - is a computer network that spans a limited geographic area. Metropolitan area network (MAN) - connects computers within a metropolitan area, Wide area network (WAN) - connects your offices, data centers, cloud applications, and cloud storage together.
A network topology is the arrangement of nodes and connections in a network. Nodes include switches, routers and software. A few examples are: Bus topology, Star topology and ring topology
Transmission Channels The medium used for transmission of data between the nodes in a network is called as transmission channel. This channel can be wired or wireless.
Mobile Operating system To manage all the apps and features on a smartphone we use a special type of operating system called mobile operating system or mobile OS. It takes less storage capacity, is designed in a simple manner and it contains an in-built keyboard. Few examples are Android, iOS, BlackBerry OS, etc.
