and rescue people from drowning.

Excellent Swimmers
Newfoundland dogs are natural swimmers, thanks to their webbed feet, water-resistant double
coat, and strong muscles.
Gentle Giants
They are known for their calm, gentle, and patient temperament, making them excellent family
pets and especially good with children.
Massive Size
Males typically weigh between 59–68 kg and females between 45–54 kg.
Despite their size, they are surprisingly graceful and well-balanced.
Lifespan
Their average lifespan is about 8 to 10 years, which is fairly standard for giant breeds.

Be prepared for a lot of drooling and shedding—especially during spring and fall.
