1. NEWS REPORT WRITING What is a Newspaper Report? A newspaper report is a written or printed story in any newspaper about the event, issues, accidents or problem to make them known to the readers. The main aim of writing news report is to pass the current news, information, issues, events or accidents to the readers instantly.

FEATURES OF NEWS REPORT A newspaper report includes: A HEADLINES A BYLINE (the source like the reporter) TIME LINE ( time to the news) PLACE LINE (place from where the news is reported) The lead 5 Ws and 1 H The body( detail information about the event. 3. THINGS TO BE CONSIDERED WHILE WRITING NEWS REPORT A headline is the first thing an audience/reader see so it must grab their attention. It must be attractive and brief but very catchy. Write a minimum of 6 words or less than that for the headlines. Use present tense and active verbs. Avoid using articles in the headlines. Avoid conjunctions. Substitute them with a comma or a semi colon instead.

4. THINGS TO BE CONSIDERED WHILE WRITING NEWS REPORT Next, it should have date and place of issues. The lead paragraph should briefly answers the questions like Who :- who was involved? What :- what happened? Where :- where did it happen? When :- when did it happen? Why :- why did it happen? How:- how did it happen?
