Newton’s Law of Motion

An object speeds up  (here the rocket )   due to the force acting on it.   In short, acceleration of an object is linked to the force which is acting on it.

An object speeds up  (here the ball)   due to the force acting on it.   In short, acceleration of an object is linked to the force which is acting on it. Newton’s Second Law of Motion

Newton’s Third Law of Motion action reaction To every action  (here you pushing the skateboard),   there is an equal and opposite reaction  (you move forward).

Scenario Analysis Steps: 1. You will be divided into groups of 4’s. 2. Each group will be given a scenario. 3 . Groups will discuss their scenario and answer the following questions on the scenario: a. What happens in the scenario? b. Which of Newton's Laws of Motion does this scenario illustrate? c. How does the scenario demonstrate this law?

Scenario Analysis Steps: 4. Create a poster/drawing about the scenario. Posters should include : A description of the scenario. The identified law of motion. An explanation of how the law applies to the scenario. Diagrams or illustrations . 5. Present the output of the group in class. 6. Each group will be given 25 minutes to do the output.

Scoring Guide Assessment: 15 points: Participation in group discussions and activities. 25 points: Quality and clarity of the poster. 35 points: Accuracy and depth of the analysis in explaining the scenario. 25 points: Engagement and contributions during presentations and discussions.

Scenario 1 A book sliding on a table and coming to a stop

Scenario 2 A car accelerating down the highway

Scenario 3 Rowing a boat

Scenario 4 Kicking a soccer ball

Scenario 6 A man swimming
