❖ Vidya Pravesh Module or School Preparation Module is a three month play based school preparation module for Grade 1 students.
Vidya Pravesh Highlights The play-based pedagogy is a significant aspect of the guidelines that plays a vital role in creating a joyful and stress-free environment for children to learn, and also in addressing the learning needs of children with special needs or disabilities (Divyang). Focus is also given on learning in mother tongue or home language and allowing as many languages as children bring to the classroom, including sign language. The School Preparation Objectives To promote school preparedness in all children coming to Grade-I ( 6 to 7 years) from diverse backgrounds. To ensure a smooth transition of children to Grade-I ( 6 to 7 years). To provide play-based, age and developmentally appropriate learning experiences in a joyful and stimulating environment leading to holistic development. To prepare children with the cognitive and linguistic competencies which are pre-requisite for learning to read, write and develop number sense through a play based approach.

Introduction to FLN Mission Foundational learning is the basis of all future learning for a child. Not achieving basic foundational skills of being able to read with comprehension, writing and doing basic mathematics operations leaves the child unprepared for the complexities of the curriculum beyond Class III.

FOUNDATIONAL LITERACY Foundational literacy refers to the skills and strategies involved in reading, speaking, writing, interpreting one’s thoughts. Making learner competent in doing meaningful reading and writing by the time they enter grade 3.

Peer Tutoring All viable method will be explored to support teachers in the mission of attaining universal FLN One- to- one peer tutoring is extremely effective for learning not just for the learner but also for the tutor. Every literate member of the community could commit to teaching one student how to read, it would change the county’s landscape very quickly.
