Flip Chart a useful teaching aid. a stationery item consisting of a pad of large paper sheets. It is typically fixed to the upper edge of a whiteboard, typically supported on a tripod or four-legged easel.

The earliest known patent of a flipchart is from May 8, 1913. Flip charts have been in use from the 1900s, the earliest recorded use of a flip chart is a photo from 1912 of John Henry Patterson (1844-1922), NCR’s CEO while addressing the 100 Point Club standing next to a pair of flip charts on casters.  BRIEF HISTORY 1940s–1950s – Widely used in military training, schools, and offices for visual presentations. 1960s–1980s – Became a popular business tool for meetings, brainstorming, and corporate training. 1990s–Present – Despite the rise of PowerPoint and digital whiteboards, flip charts remain widely used for interactive discussions .

PURPOSE: Supports different learning styles, especially for visual learners. Facilitates classroom discussions by allowing students to contribute ideas. Useful for mind mapping, listing key points, and summarizing lessons. Collaboration

BENEFITS: No need for electricity or technology. Lightweight and can be moved easily. Ideal for group discussions and interactive sessions. Affordable compared to digital alternatives. Can be used with markers, sticky notes, and different paper types. Reliable and effective tool for visual thinking and communication.
