NRDC (National Research Development Corporation) A non departmental Governmental body An organization that plays a significant role in the promotion, protection, and commercialization of intellectual property in India I s a government enterprise established in 1953 under the Indian Companies Act . NRDC is established by British Government. It is premier knowledge transfer organization (KTO), working under administrative control of department of scientific and industrial research, under Ministry of Science & Technology Gov. of India..

Facilitates the transfer of innovative technologies developed by Indian scientists, researchers, and institutions into commercially viable products and services. Vital link between research network and industry G ives recognition to new invention be it from small scale or large scale respectively. Currently more than 2000 technologies have been acquired from different sources.

To promote and commercialize reliable and competitive techniques from R&D institutes by value addition and partnership. To develop and commercialize R&D institutes. To make prototypes, semi scale units and full scale commercial products. To sell and create a business around these products as per terms and conditions. Provide money in experimenting, testing or for seeking patents, inventions etc. To develop and exploit patents by general/special agreements by universities and R&D institutes. OBJECTIVES

Some Facts about NRDC Through NRDC, multiple plants were set up for manufacture of water filter candles, NRDC established plants in various countries where a)Extraction of Menthol from mint oil in Indonesia b) Synthetic and Natural Dyes plant in Vietnam c) Rice husk particle board plant in Malaysia d) Rural technologies in Senegal Wide network registered with World Bank, Asian Development Bank etc. Has transferred technologies to Ministry of Textiles, with aid by CSIR(Central Silk Board)
