2. (IAP) measurement Position the patient in supine with head of bed flat, to ensure transducer the at level of mid-axillary line at iliac crest to give accurate pressure reading. Ensure z ero ing the pressure transducer at the level of the mid axillary line aligned with the iliac crest . Clamp the drainage system to allow a fluid filled to develop up into the bladder . Fill the bladder with 20 - 25mls of sterile water and closed the stopcock and allow measurement 30 to 60 second.

3. (IAP) measurement Allow the bladder in muscle relaxation to avoid false elevated muscle Read then pressure in the end of expiratory phase. Inform the doctor if reading is >12mmHg. 7. Regularly check and trouble shoot the equipment for any malfunction. Ensure the foley catheter is patent, the tranducer is functioning correctly and there is no leak or block in the system 8. Maintaining the pressure bag at 300mmHg to ensure adequate pressure. Infuse the sterile water into the bladder and transmit the pressure accurately to the tranducer .
