5. REVIEW What are the different literary text types ?

6. 1. DESCRIPTIVE -is a text that creates a picture of a person, place, thing, or event. It also tells what something looks, sounds, smells, tastes, or feels like.

7. Example of a DESCRIPTIVE TEXT An excerpt from "The Lake Isle of Innisfree" by W.B. Yeats: "I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree, And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made; Nine bean rows will I have there, a hive for the honeybee, And live alone in the bee-loud glade.“

8. 2. NARRATIVE -is a text that tells a series of events in chronological order

9. An excerpt from "The Old Man and the Sea" by Ernest Hemingway: "He was an old man who fished alone in a skiff in the Gulf Stream and he had gone eighty-four days now without taking a fish." Example of a NARRATIVE TEXT

10. 3. EXPOSITORY -is a text that provides explanation of a specific topic; gives facts, reasons, explanations or examples with supporting details and conclusions about the topic

11. An excerpt from a science article about climate change: "Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. These changes may be natural, but since the 1800s, human activities have been the main driver of climate change, primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels." Example of an EXPOSITORY TEXT

12. 4. PERSUASIVE -is a text that aims to present a point of view and seek to convince a reader.

13. A passage from a persuasive essay on the importance of recycling: "We must adopt recycling as part of our daily lives. Recycling reduces waste, conserves natural resources, and decreases pollution. By recycling, we can ensure a healthier planet for future generations." Example of a PERSUASIVE TEXT

14. 5. ARGUMENTATIVE -is a text that attempts to present and explain the issue or case, gives reasons and supports these reasons to prove its point and refutes or proves wrong the opposing argument

An excerpt from an argumentative essay on school uniforms: "While some argue that school uniforms limit students' freedom of expression, uniforms actually promote equality and reduce peer pressure. Uniforms eliminate the need for expensive, fashionable clothing, allowing all students to focus on their studies instead of their appearance." Example of an ARGUMENTATIVE TEXT
