Example of a DESCRIPTIVE TEXT An excerpt from "The Lake Isle of Innisfree" by W.B. Yeats: "I will arise and go now, and go to Innisfree, And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made; Nine bean rows will I have there, a hive for the honeybee, And live alone in the bee-loud glade.“
2. NARRATIVE -is a text that tells a series of events in chronological order
An excerpt from "The Old Man and the Sea" by Ernest Hemingway: "He was an old man who fished alone in a skiff in the Gulf Stream and he had gone eighty-four days now without taking a fish." Example of a NARRATIVE TEXT
3. EXPOSITORY -is a text that provides explanation of a specific topic; gives facts, reasons, explanations or examples with supporting details and conclusions about the topic
An excerpt from a science article about climate change: "Climate change refers to long-term shifts in temperatures and weather patterns. These changes may be natural, but since the 1800s, human activities have been the main driver of climate change, primarily due to the burning of fossil fuels." Example of an EXPOSITORY TEXT
