5. PRIMARY OCCUPATION A primary occupation means work that involves taking raw material from the environment. Example : farmers, fisherman , miners etc . ( i ) Activities of man related to land, e.g., hunting, fishing, agriculture, mining. (ii) Goods obtained by this occupation are not directly useful to us and they have less economic value. (iii) This occupation is more common in the developing countries . (iv) They provide raw materials to secondary occupation, e.g., agriculture , mining, lumbering. (v) Countries whose economy depends more on primary occupation have a low economy.

6. SECONDARY OCCUPATION These jobs are in which they process a product. these pay a little better than primary, and are a relatively safer environment. (these jobs have remained the same popularity as they have had about 100 years ago) these would be factories, that process a product. An example is, processing ore, (in a factory ). ( i ) Activities of man associated with processing and transforming of primary goods into goods more useful to man. (ii) They are directly useful to us and have greater economic value. (iii) It is more common in developed countries. (iv) They depend on the primary products, e.g., Cotton textile, sugar industry, iron and steel industry. (v) Countries whose economy depends more on secondary occupation have a better economy.

7. TERTIARY OCCUPATION These jobs have the most pay, they are the most popular among people today, they have the least amount of labor involved, as well they usually have good benefits and pentions . These jobs are everywhere, they provide the customer with the product, doctor, lawyer, store owner, etc. ( i ) In tertiary occupations means no material is manufacture or obtained . (ii) It provides different services to the society. occupations such as giving a tin wash to vessels, sharping knives or siccors , educational services etc. are all included in this group

8. QUATERNARY OCCUPATIONS The quaternary sector consists of those industries providing information services, such as computing and ICT or information and communication technologies, consultancy, such as offering advice to businesses and research and development (R&D) in scientific fields . The quaternary sector can be seen as the sector in which companies invest in order to ensure further expansion . Some examples could be: background investigators, financial planners or consultants, real estate appraisers, information technology consultants who can set-up a computer network for your business and market research consultants who determine if a product in development will sell and make a profit.
