Waivers USDA Waivers COVID-19 Child Nutrition Response #84-#96 COVID-19 Child Nutrition Response #84 - provides an overview of all waivers and waiver extensions available for school year 2021-2022 COVID-19 Child Nutrition Response #85 - allows the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) to be operated for school year 2021-2022 COVID-19 Child Nutrition Response #86 - allows Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) reimbursement rate in school year 2021-2022 COVID-19 Child Nutrition Response #87 - allows non-congregate meal service for school year 2021-2022 (SSO, NSLP, SBP, CACFP)

Waivers USDA Waivers COVID-19 Child Nutrition Response #93 - waives area eligibility requirements (NSLP and CACFP) CACFP At-Risk Meals and Snacks NSLP Snacks Tier 1 reimbursements COVID-19 Child Nutrition Response #94/#95/#96 - waives the on-site monitoring requirement for both sponsors and ODE (SSO, NSLP, SBP, CACFP) All waivers effective July 1, 2021 with the exception of waiver #91

Waiver Distinctions Program Timeline School Year 2020-2021 - school districts had the option to offer SFSP or SSO  School Year 2021-2022 - The USDA waivers did NOT extend the option to operate SFSP for school year 2021-2022.   Summer 2021- The USDA did not waive the requirement that the At-Risk component of the CACFP only operate during the school year.   Summer 2021- The USDA did not waive the requirement that the NSLP Afterschool Snack only operate during the school year.

Waiver Distinctions Meal Pattern Flexibilities School Year 2020-2021 – waivers provided flexibility to waive several meal pattern requirements School Year 2021-2022 – waivers allow only specific meal pattern requirements to be waived  SFSP - meal pattern waiver expires June 30, 2021. Not extended SSO - meal pattern waiver expires Sept 30, 2021.  School year 2021-2022 waiver is effective October 1, 2021 or when your respective school year begins.  Only specific requirements may be waived CACFP - meal pattern waiver expires June 30, 2021.  School year 2021-2022 waiver is effective July 1, 2021.  Only specific requirements may be waived Must be requested to ODE

Waiver Distinctions USDA Foods Entitlement School Year 2020-2021 – entitlement calculations used school year 2018-2019 NSL meal counts instead of reconciling to current year meal counts  School Year 2021-2022 - SSO earns full entitlement rate.  No USDA Foods waivers have been issued Area Eligibility School Year 2020-2021 – documentation was required for sites that were not traditionally area eligible prior to approval School Year 2021-2022 - documentation will not be required for sites that are not traditionally area eligible for SSO and CACFP. USDA Foods – Update SSO earns full NSLP entitlement rate (currently $.37 per meal) USDA DoD Fresh SFSP 21 FFAVORS (spend June 1, 21 - Sept. 30, 21) NSLP 21-22 FFAVORS (spend July 1, 21 – June 30, 22) New ordering system will replace webstore ! More features and reports Trainings in summer/early fall USDA Direct Delivery Foods nutrition database coming December 2021! Farm to CNP Grants Procurement Grant:  Current Biennium -  Items must be purchased and received by June 30, 2021  Last day to enter a claim into EGMS is July 24, 2021  Competitive Procurement Grant is closed 2021-2023 Biennium - Should know State's ODE Farm to School budget for the new biennium by the end of June Grant timeline and award announcements out after approved budget release Will be emailed to CNPweb contacts (please make sure these are updated)  Awards will be based on meal counts during SY 19-20 or SY 20-21 - whichever is greater  Education Grant:   TBD by State budget
